Small Sided Games (SSG) Rooball SURVEY

In 2008 the Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA) undertook an initiative to implement SSG into Rooball age groups U6 through to U9. This is part of a broad plan by the Football Federation of Australia (FFA) to improve the quality of football from Grassroots right through to our elite representative players.

To assist the SSFA and FFA in delivering a product that is the best for all players, but particularly those in our younger age groups we invite you to provide feedback by completing the short survey below.

Based on feedback we have received from various sources during 2008 we will be making some changes to the way in which SSG Rooball is played in 2009, so we encourage you to assist us by completing this survey as accurately as possible. The results will be made available soon.

Introduction of FFA Small Sided Games in 2008

In 2008, there will be significant changes to the way U6-U9 inclusive football will be played. These changes are based on the FFA Small Sided Games plan which will be implemented from 2008 through to 2011 (eventually being played by U6-U12 inclusive).

For the 2008 season for U6-U9's the following will apply:-
U6 will play 4 v 4, no goalkeepers, on a smaller field.
U7 and U8 will play 5 v 5, no goalkeepers, on a smaller field.
U9 will play 7 v 7 including goalkeepers, on a smaller field.

There are no throw-ins for U6-U8; restarts from the sideline will be kickins.

More information will be posted closer to registration time - there will also be additional information available on the www.shirefootball.com website.
